Fueron los estudiantes secundarios quienes sacaron la cara por un país que llevaba años en silencio ante la desigualdad, y gracias a ellos, hoy, poco a poco, las cosas están cambiando.
Pero son los escolares, los que al egresar de cuarto medio, sufren esta diferencia. Si no les alcanza el puntaje para ingresar a la universidad, deben asistir a un preuniversitario, pero eso significa invertir más dinero, dinero que en muchos casos, no existe.
La Prueba de Selección Universitaria, PSU, ha generado un gran debate en los últimos años, esto por factores como la desigualdad en el aprendizaje y la diferencia de contenidos que se imparten en los colegios municipales versus los colegios particulares.
Y el último llamado realizado por los mismos estudiantes no deja exento a nadie: manifestarse y tomarse los establecimientos para que no se pueda rendir. ¿Será esta la oportunidad de cambiar un sistema que solo favorece a quienes han tenido un mejor acceso a la educación?
Ante este llamado, se espera que el 6 y 7 de enero (días en que se realiza la evaluación), el resguardo policial en los lugares de rendición sea potente. Aunque las medidas de seguridad aún no se definen, en caso de haber manifestaciones, la prueba incluso podría volver a ser reprogramada. Y si bien, esto demuestra una organización para que el proceso sea llevado a cabo de forma correcta, las autoridades no están viendo el verdadero problema de fondo.
La PSU no es el modo de medir el conocimiento, ni mucho menos la manera para poder ingresar a la universidad. El sistema debería cambiar, el procedimiento de evaluación tiene que modificarse. Es claro, en Chile no todos tienen las mismas oportunidades, la misma calidad de aprendizaje y, por lo tanto, una cantidad considerable de estudiantes no puede entrar a una carrera en primera instancia.
¿Por qué una prueba, que no mide todas las capacidades de los estudiantes, es la encargada de definir su futuro? Si las herramientas y la calidad de la educación chilena fuesen equitativas para todos, tal vez las cosas hoy serían distintas.
